Have you been trying to improve your relationship?

Have you been searching for a couples retreat?

The Art And Science Of Love: Luxury Couples Retreat may be for you.

Couple Retreats

Movies about couples retreats show people doing all sorts of embarrassing exercises and silly activities trying to make their marriages better. That makes for good comedy, but a real couples retreat is vastly different from these portrayals.

Thanks to the careful, in-depth research of Dr. John Gottman (and the continuing research by Dr. Carrie Cole), we now understand a great deal about relationship problems, what makes relationships work and what causes them to fail. The Art and Science of Love is the premier couple’s relationship workshop developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. Drs. Carrie and Don Cole, the Research Director and Clinical Director for The Gottman Institute, respectively, are Gottman Certified Therapists and have offered this retreat for couples since 2009 and have personally assisted Drs. John and Julie Gottman with every one of their private retreats for more than ten years.

During these two days, you will learn ways to be closer to your partner, such as:

  • The essential components of a great friendship
  • Practical ways to enhance your feelings of friendship and intimacy
  • The power of “turning toward” versus “turning away”
  • Building ways to feel more connected
  • Finding tools to help you communicate about sex and intimacy

We don’t just stop there. Unlike many couples retreats, we do more than simply suggest ways to enhance your relationship, we offer practical help for couples struggling with conflict. Research has taught us that conflict is universal in intimate relationships. Success in our marriages and intimate relationships hinges not on the absence of conflict, but on healthy conflict management.

During the retreat, you will learn practical tools to help improve your conflicts:

  • What are the four relationship “killers” and how to make them better
  • How to process an argument and come to a sense of healing and forgiveness
  • How to soften the way you bring up a problem with your partner
  • How to repair your conversations when they get off track
  • How to deal with the “gridlocked conflicts” which seem to never get any better

The Science of Gottman Method

We’ve learned that successful couples have found ways to listen to each other’s dreams and deepest needs. The Art And Science Of Love retreat gives you an opportunity to share those dreams and to listen to your partner’s so that you might have a better chance of making those dreams come true. That’s a lot to cover in two days but the vast majority of those who attend marriage retreats and learn new couples therapy exercises report significant improvement in their relationship over time.

The Art And Science of Love retreat, written by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, and presented by Dr. Don & Carrie Cole, is a two-day workshop designed to strengthen relationships through engaging presentations and experiential activities.  If you have a good relationship, this workshop will provide you with the insights and tools to make it a great one.  If your relationship is distressed, this workshop will provide a road map for repair. There is no group work or public disclosure.
